Airports: Privately owned Harlan Field, located 1 1/2 mile south of LaGrange on Route 301.

Board of Zoning Appeals: The Board of Zoning Appeals hears requests for variances and conditional uses. The Board meets as
necessary at the LaGrange Municipal Building. The public is welcome to attend. Call Zoning Inspector Vince Sigmund for more

Boards and Commissions: Township residents are welcome to apply for appointment to any of the following township boards and
commissions: Park Board, Zoning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Library Board. Appointments are for five year terms.

Brush and Yard Waste: The township Road Department chips small brush on an as needed basis. Please call the township garage
at 355-5141 for information.

Building Permits: All new buildings and additions require permits as well as ponds, swimming pools and home businesses. Contact
the Zoning Inspector for more information at 355-5997.

Cable TV Services: Cable service for LaGrange Township is provided by Grafton Cable - 926-3230

Dead Animal Removal:

Dogs: Licenses available at LaGrange Hardware, East Main Street. To report stray dogs call Lorain County Dog Warden at 329-5599

Dumpster Days: Held four times a year at the township garage for disposal of scrap metal and used appliances. Tire dumpsters are available at the first and last pickup for used tires taken off of the rims. Township employees are available for assistance in
unloading. No garbage please. Call Road Department at 355-5141 for more information, dates and times.

Electric Service: The Township is served by two electric companies:

Facilities: Township Complex is located at 353 South Center Street, P.O. Box 565, LaGrange, Ohio, 44050. Complex houses
Township offices, Fire and EMS office and Road Department.

Fences: Permits are not required for fences. Homeowners should assure that fences are placed on property and at least 35 feet
from road right-of-ways.

Fire Department: Township Fire Department services township and village residents. Responds to fires and to calls for emergency medical assistance.

Fire Hydrant Inspections: Done once a year to exercise hydrants and check for necessary maintenance to keep the system on proper working order.

Flooding: The township garage can install high water signs or take other actions based on the situation. To report high water on
township roads call - 355-5141

Garage Sales: Permits for garage sales are required. Township residents should call the Zoning Inspector at 355-5997 and Village residents should call the Village Office at 355-5555.

Garbage pickup: Service provider in the area is BFI, 458-5191. Homeowners are responsible for contracting with BFI. Waste
containers may be set at the curb no earlier than 6PM the evening before the scheduled collection day and must be removed from the curb no later than 6AM the day after collection.

Gas Service: Gas service is provided to the township residents by Columbia Gas, 800-344-4077.

Health Department: Area is serviced by Lorain County Health Department, 9880 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, 322-6367.

Home Occupations: All home occupations are required to have a permit to operate. For more information please contact the Zoning Inspector at 355-5997.

Junk Vehicles: Not more than two unlicensed or inoperable vehicle are allowed in public view.

Litter: If you have a complaint about accumulations of litter on private property contact the Zoning Inspector at 355-5997.

Meeting Rooms: All township meetings are held at the LaGrange Municipal Building, 355 South Center Street, LaGrange.

Noise: Noise complaints in the township should be referred to the Lorain County Sheriff's Department, 329-3709.

Parks:

Park Board: The Park Board serves in an advisory capacity to the township on issues with the LaGrange Community Parks.

Police Department: Residents in the unincorporated area of the township are served by the Lorain County Sheriff, 329-3709.
Residents in the limits are served by the LaGrange Police Department, 355-4469.

Post Office: LaGrange Post Office, 355-4673.

Recycling: LaGrange Township provides free recycling paid for by grant funds received on a yearly basis. Items to be recycled:

Newspapers and brown paper bags - no colored inserts or magazines
Cardboard - corrugated cardboard, cereal boxes, shoe boxes, detergent boxes, flattened by be deposited at the recycling container at the Municipal Building, 355 S. Center Street.
Glass - all colors of glass containers from home use. Rinse containers and dispose of lids.
Plastic - #1, 2 and 6, pop bottles, mild and water jugs, detergents containers. Rinse containers and dispose of lids.
Metal - all tin food cans, aluminum and bi-metal beverage cans, pie pans. Remove all food residue, rinse and remove labels if possible.
Polystyrene - Styrofoam egg cartons, cups, plates, produce and meat trays. Rinse away food residue.
Polycoated paperboard - milk cartons, refrigerated juice cartons (including those with plastic tops) food or beverage containers with "gable" tops and brick-shaped drink boxes. Rinse.
Items may be left in blue bags at the roadside on the regular garbage pickup day in your area. Newspapers should be bagged separately, cans and bottles may be commingled.
